Shu Uemura POREraser UV Under Base Mousse Review

Hello! I'm back again with Shu Uemura POREraser. For a while now I've been trying various face primers and pore fillers products to see which one suits my skin better and helps minimizing my humongous pores and after months searching and trying out, I've finally found the right one for me. I don't know about you, but I do have big pores I want to get rid of. But cutie Marxie told me that you can't make pores disappear. Well, that's true. But then I learn that this POREraser under base mousse can minimize my pores for several good hours, and that's what I need. I heard about this product from my friend Fio on our latest date when I asked her what she applied on her face cause she has the same combination oily skin as mine but her face looks so smooth, not greasy and sparkly. Then she told me she's been using Shu Uemura products and spilled her beauty secrets haha. I immediately hunted down those Shu Uemura products and got some of them. Well, I can't get them all since it's way more pricey than most of the makeup products I've purchased before. Well, it's Shu Uemura after all.

For you who's not familiar with Shu Uemura yet, well, it is named after the "legendary" japanese makeup artist and beauty pioneer, Shu Uemura. It was established in 1965. He has a philosophy beautiful make-up starts with beautiful skin, believing that the quality of skincare is essential in creating beautiful makeup. They use natural gentle ingredients, many Shu Uemura products are formulated with depsea water, a mineral-rich deep seawater, and asian phyto-ingredients that are known for their beneficial properties in improving the metabolism of the skin.

UV under base has been labeled as no.1 makeup base in China, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, and Hong Kong. And this POREraser under base comes in 2 shades, beige and pink. I got mine in beige. Read more if you're interested in this amazing product :)

Description:
Shu Uemura POREraser UV Under Base Mousse
SPF 35 PA++
41ml / 50g
Beige

Packaging
The packaging is simple, no fancy overdecorated, just white and simple. It comes in a tin-like bottle with plastic cap. Description in the back is in japanese. But it's basically about the directions how to use it: shake well before use, dispense a walnut size of mousse into your palm of hand with the nozzle facing upwards.

Ingredients
Aqua, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Talc, Ethylhexyl Salicylate, Titanium Dioxide, PEG/PPG/Ploybutylene Glycol-8/5/3 Glycerin, Octocrylene, Butane, Alcohol, Silica, Calcium Carbonate, Butylene Glycol, Propane, Isobutane, PEG-12 Dimethicone, Betaine, Zinc Gluconate, Dimethiconol/Methylsilanol/Silicate Crosspolymer, Methicone, Sodium Hyaluronate, Alginic Acid, Alumina, Aluminum Hydroxide, p-Anisic Acid, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Caprylyl Glycol, Crithmum Maritimum Extract, Ethylhexylglycerin, Tocopheryl Acetate, Sodium Salicylate, Phenoxyethanol, Linalool, Citronellol, Butylpehyl Methylpropional, Benzyl Acohol

As you can see it contains alcohol (I don't really know most of the ingredients lol) so if you have sensitive skin you may want to be careful. But so far my sensitive skin doesn't give me some hints (like it usually does) that I should stop using it so it might not be that bad.

It comes in a pump which is really nice and so you don't have to worry about hygiene problem. For me, I don't use full pump as it gives me more than walnut size needed and it would be a waste. I only need to pump a bit and slowly. You can use sponge or fingers to apply the foam on your face.

It is liquid base. If you let it sit after dispensing for like 30 seconds, you'll see the foam melts. No, the picture above is not how the walnut size foam melts. I put some on my face and that's the leftover. What I like from this foam is the smell. The foam and smell remind me of delicious looking cream puffs and it smells so good too! It blends well on your skin and only needs around 1 minute to actually blend with your skin. It looks a bit pale at first but slowly it blends with your skintone. But if you have pale and fair skintone, you might want to try the pink shade because this UV under base mousse brightens your skin, aside of making pores less visible.

Some tips from Shu Uemura:
  1. Generally apply outwards from the center of the face, except around the mouth
  2. For oily and mobile areas, apply a sheer amount
  3. Don't forget to apply on the neck

Okay, I hope my before and after pictures won't disgust you cause I seriously have major pores issue lol. These before after pictures aren't edited at all.

Okay while I don't have fair skin and after application it doesn't give me the smooth entirely poreless look, but you see the difference between before and after application. The POREraser UVUB mousse gives me luminous look and does erase some of my pores and redness. And after it really blends on my skin, I tend to touch my face with the back of my hand more because it's so smooth. It also becomes a smooth canvas for my bb/cc cream/foundation to glide on and makes it easier to apply the next product.

PROS
- Lightweight
- Quick application
- Erase pores and control shines
- Brighten skin
- Create luminous look & semi matte finish

CONS
- Pricey

OVERALL

5 hearts! Cause I really love this product and it does what it claims. This has become an important and crucial product to my daily morning makeup routine. Even though it doesn't make my pores disappear completely, but it reduces more than half of my humongous pores. And if worn under the foundation/bb cream it looks even better. I also like its brightening effect which evens out some of my dull areas. I apply this under Almay TLC foundation and Dodo Palgantong loose powder and my face will be fine all day with minimal shine. This combination lasts me all day without worrying if my face would look like an oil mine after 3-4 hours. I only need to blot a little bit once and my face stays matte the entire day. I will repurchase of course ❤ I state pricey as the only cons. I got it for $50 but the price is really worthy. I wouldn't mind spending more money for product like this that seriously work on my face. So I'm happy and content with this purchase. You can get this for $47 on COSME-DE or $49 on amazon.
