I'm someone who always have pore and black/whiteheads problems for as long as I remember. It all started since I was younger around junior high school I guess? I was soooo lazy to cleanse my face. I believed as long as I didn't wear makeup I didn't need to cleanse my face so I only washed it with water back then haha I wasn't much into makeup and skincare back then and didn't care much about my skin and that's why I'm dealing with bad skin years later which is now haha. Even back in high school, I remember my ex boyfriend told me the first thing he noticed when he saw me for the first time was my blackheads. LOL how embarrassing was it? Then I began using Biore pore strips cause it was the only one we had here back then. Sure it was pretty effective but I felt like ripping my nose skin everytime I did it and hurt like hell. But growing up, I gradually used it less and less cause I had bad itch everytime I used it and my skin felt bad. So since couple years ago I've only been using peel off masks and other mild pore care products (which I'll post next time).
So after trying countless of pore products, now I'm going to share you about Laneige pore and blackhead products I received from Jolse, which are Laneige Blackhead Melting Gel and Laneige Pore Strips, the latest pore set I try recently which gives me good result. Now, let's see closer.
There are 2 products I'm going to review today, but since I use it in 2 steps so I'm just gonna put them together in this post. The first is Laneige Blackhead Melting Gel.
It's a melting gel that contains Keratinase enzyme that claims to melts down dead skin cells with soft massager like brush that helps to unclog the clogged pores and open them to make removing blackhead easier. At first I didn't think it would work but I tried it anyway since this is rather interesting to me.
The brush are soft and a great tool to massage the skin while opening the pores.
There's a button on the side of the bottle. Press it to let the gel out. It took me 2-3 tries to get the liquid out for the first time.
That's how the gel looks like when it's out. It's kinda hard to capture using my camera but the gel spreads around the brush once it's out. I use the brush in circular motion on my trouble pore areas around my nose and inner cheeks for about 20 seconds. It gets hotter which open the pores, and then after that I wash it with lukewarm water. It doesn't melt the blackheads of course, but I notice that it's easier to make the blackhead out after this process. I can simply press the skin next to the blackhead and it comes out. Yes, bad habit I know. But I just sometimes can't stand it seeing some popping blackheads.
And the second product is the Laneige Blackhead Pore Strip pack.
The pack of Laneige Blackhead Pore Strip contains 10 strips, including an instruction booklet. It's made of eco friendly material that sticks to the nose where sebum, blackheads and whiteheads have been melted with melting gel before.
Now I'm going to show you how to use these 2 products properly. I'm sorry if my pores and blackheads look yucky.
1. I don't know if you can see it clearly but I have so many blackheads and whiteheads on my nose and cheeks, they're pretty deep already and stubborn so kinda hard to remove. But I just washed my face in this photo so somehow my pores look smaller, but after some minutes it turns out to my normally humongous pores.
2. Then I press the button on Blackhead Melting Gel and apply the gel around my trouble areas then I wait for 20 seconds, and rinse it with lukewarm water to open the pores for the next step.
3. While my nose is still wet after rinsing, I quickly stick the Laneige Pore Strip and wait for 20-30 minutes until the strip becomes hard and stiff.
4. After I remove the nose strip, which doesn't hurt at all, my pores become clearer. It also plucks the blackheads in my tighter pores around my cheeks. As you can see the strip doesn't fully remove all the blackheads especially the stubborn one but I believe 70% of my blackheads were removed cause my nose feels smoother and looks cleaner with less black dots and hair.
The color of this pore strip makes it pretty hard to see the oil plugs and blackheads that were removed in the picture but it took quite a lot of the oil plugs in my pores which makes me happy. The plucked blackheads aren't so visible because of the turquoise color though. But I'm really glad to see some oil plugs were out cause those were the ones that make me have big pores lol and I hope my pores get smaller after this.
I also apply pore tightening serum after this process so the open pores are closed again.
|after 2 weeks|
After 2 weeks of using this pore care process, I feel my nose looks way better, not so many blackheads as before and my pores are definitely clearer. I tried using the gel alone and pore strip alone but they don't work as much as using it together, and by together I mean the melting gel first then the pore strip. So I believe it works way better when it's used together since the melting gel helps melting down and opening the pores before using the pore strip. I don't give 5 hearts because the pore strip isn't as effective as Biore nose strip BUT I can assure you this Laneige pore strip doesn't hurt, itch and leave red marks around my nose so yes it's painless, perfect for people with sensitive skin like me which is a big plus. I use it 1-2 times a week and notice a good result after 2 weeks. My pore strip is almost emptied but I will repurchase. So far, this is my favorite blackhead removing method. Besides, it's really fun to do.
Have you tried Laneige blackhead products? What's your favorite blackhead removing products?
