Damoae Treatment Shampoo and Tonic for Dry Scalp and Anti Hair Fall

Many people ask me how I treat my long hair and why my hair is still so thick and long even when I bleached it savagely several times a year. I always tell them that I don't specifically treat my hair and don't do anything special for my damaged hair. People don't believe me. I guess I am blessed with natural thick hair, which I'm so grateful for. But with severe hair bleaching and dyeing, and lack hair trimming (I love to have freakishly long hair cause I feel like a mermaid lol) made me realize I need to start taking care of my hair cause especially since I start bleaching my own hair this year, I do notice I lose some of my hair. Hair strands everywhere around the drain when I'm washing my hair. Either because it's too long, tangled, or too damaged. And just 2 months ago my hair snapped after I left the bleach for too long and now I have spiky mini mohawk on top of my head, which I manage to cover with the side of my hair. Fortunately I have too many hair that it's not that noticeable. The other concern I have with continuous severe bleaching is dry dry scalp. I have almost no natural oil on my scalp. It's just so dry and... well dry, that it often peels and looks disgusting.

And just in time, I got the chance to try the amazing therapy shampoo and tonic specially made to prevent hairfall which also moisturizes and soothes dry scalp and skin. It's a Korean brand called Damoae.

What is DAMOAE? Damoae is made of natural Chinese medicinal herbs that can be ingested, and there for is not harmful to the body. This product is patent proven to increase hair count as well as effectively treat dandruff and has been approved by the KFDA as a hair loss prevention product that increases hair growth and thickness. Damoae consists of 17 natural herbs used in Chinese medicine, including dried orange peels, aloe, and peppermint. These ingredients work together to perform the most ideal medical action on the scalp to prevent hair loss and treat dandruff at the same time. By continuously using Damoae, you can see improvement in the following areas: hair loss, dandruff, scalp itchiness, seborrheic dermatitis, damaged hair, and more! Your scalp will feel clean and your hair will feel luxuriously thick and smooth!

Pretty strong claim? Yes it sounds too good to be true. I've been trying the two products for 2 months now that I can share what I think about them on today's post. But keep reading to see if it lives up to its claims.

hairfall shampoo

These are the shampoo and tonic. The shampoo comes in a huge bottle with pump dispenser. Yes it is big and heavy, and not so travel friendly. But I looove how it comes with pump, makes it easier for me to get the product out, since all the other shampoos I got have no pump and it's kinda annoying when I have to open the cap, squeeze the bottle, and close the cap again then place the shampoo bottle on the original spot before using the shampoo (yes I'm kinda OCD like that). The tonic is smaller and lighter and also with pump dispenser and transparent cap. I must say I'm very impressed with the packaging and tightly sealed cap.

The shampoo has a bit thick and yellowish color and doesn't look like the other shampoo I've tried before. It smells wonderful and it feels so refreshing on my scalp. It's like rejuvenating my dry scalp and feels so good. It is quite foamy too though I thought it wouldn't be. I don't need to use extra conditioner with this shampoo but since I have ultra thick and long hair I still use a tiny bit of conditioner around the end of my hair just so they won't tangle.

The tonic is used after hair wash on wet hair. I directly pump on my scalp and the area with dryness including my eyebrow and around my hairline and ears too. My hairline is usually so dry and it feels so great once the liquidy tonic is pumped. I gently massage my scalp while spreading the tonic.

How to use Damoae Therapy Shampoo:

It is recommended that you cleanse twice with Therapy Shampoo per use. It is best to use this product in the evening time. The frequency of shampooing should depend on your scalp and hair conditions (oily scalp 1-2 times daily, dry scalp once every 1-2 days). Before washing your hair, gently massage your scalp and give your hair a thorough brushing. Before applying shampoo, lightly rinse your hair of dust and oil. Pump a coin-sized amount of Therapy Shampoo onto your hands. Rub hands into a rich lather. Apply lather to hair for the first cleansing. Do not scratch your scalp with your fingernails. Instead, gently massage scalp with your fingertips for 1 minute. Rinse thoroughly. Perform the second cleansing in the same way as the first. Massage for 3 minutes instead of 1. Thoroughly rinse with warm water. Rinse hair and scalp again with cold water. Lightly dry your hair using the cold air option on your hair dryer, a fan, or natural air dry.

I did some hair fall test. I wanted to take pictures of my bathroom drain at first but decided to keep it more hygienic and just show my hair brush instead lol.

Before I regularly use the shampoo, I always got so many hair strands stuck on the brush that I was so scared to brush my hair. Starting from June I religiously use the shampoo and tonic and they help so much. It's not a miracle process but it manages to help with my weak hair. Until July, the amount of hair stuck on the brush every brushing session is way reduced. Now I don't have to clean the brush and trash a bunch of hair strands that can be used to make voodoo doll everytime I finish brushing the hair.

However, the best result that Damoae Therapy shampoo and tonic give me is my dry scalp.

As you can see from the picture above, my scalp was so dry along the hairline, and around my crown. Sometimes the dry scalp peeled (which looked super disgusting and dirty) so big almost as big as my thumbnail. So I tend to manually scrape them which resulted in crushed and dirty scalp pieces (?) that looked like dandruff. Even after I washed my hair, I could still see dry scalps. But after frequent use for about 2 months, my dry scalp and skin on my hairline and crown completely gone. Though around then I had to touch up my roots which usually resulted in very dry scalp, but it was fine. As you can see, there's no dry scalp and nasty dry skin anymore. So I must say... it works!

It's a really nice shampoo and tonic specifically for people with hairfall problems. It also helps moisturizing dry scalp a lot. The tonic is especially great for dry scalp problem, especially since it's small and more travel friendly that it can be used on hot days when the hair feels hot and/or oily or when the scalp is itchy under the sun. Just spray it and there's cooling sensation that helps through the hot day. The shampoo and tonic works really well in strengthening the hair and healing my dry scalps so I must say I love the results. The price is on the pricier side as it's not drugstore shampoos. But I can say it's worth the price since it works like its claims.

- People with hairfall and/or thinning hair concerns
- People with dry and/or itchy reddish scalp
- People with excess sebum on the scalp
- People with weak and dull hair
