YSL Rouge Volupte #15 Lipstick Review

I'm sure most people own at least one YSL lipstick nowadays. And I'm sure everyone knows what they are and its swatches already. But I still feel the need to share one of my HG lipsticks ever. I remember last year I was so obsessed with coral lips and I tried to find some coral lipsticks, which to be honest mostly disappointed me. Probably cause I have pigmented lips so most coral lipstick didn't look coral on me, either too orange or too sheer. So I completely gave up coral and kinda jumped ship to purple lips. But around last Christmas I managed to purchase this little beauty YSL Rouge Volupte Lipstick no 15. I only got to try it recently though and the moment I swatched it on the back of my hand, I'm in love!

Now let's see more of this lippie.

The lipstick packaging is really beautiful. I know all YSL lipsticks pakaging is gorgeous but I especially chose this lipstick mainly because of the packaging of this series is my most favorite. Gold and elegant with the YSL trademark carving. It also looks very pretty sitting on my vanity table as well.

The shade I got is no 15. It is coral and that's how the bullet looks like. From the bullet alone I can see the shine. The scent is also wonderful.

Swatched under different lighting. Can you see the sparkles? It has good color payoff and it feels balmy which also kind of moisturizes. It is not highly pigmented, it's actually quite sheer so I usually need to use 2 swipes. But since I have pigmented lips, the color of this lipstick on my lips always amaze me everytime I apply it.

It is a lovely coral shade even under different lighting. The only downside for me is it kinda accentuates my drier parts a bit. But I'm so in love with the color on my lips. I always apply lip balm first before applying this lipstick which helps a lot. The lipstick is pretty moisturizing and doesn't dry out my already dry lips, which is a big plus for me. However, I still need to reapply after around 5 hours and especially after I eat, though the color is still there but I like having shiny lips these days, so I reapply.

PROS
- Beautiful packaging
- Travel friendly
- Good color payoff
- Lovely scent
- Good lasting power
- Available in many colors

CONS
- Pricey
- More on the sheer side & not opaque
- Accentuate dry lips a bit

OVERALL
YSL Rouge Volupte lipstick #15 is a beautiful coral lipstick that's not opaque but with good color payoff, even on pigmented lips. The packaging is my most favorite of all the lipsticks I've got and seen so far. It is balmy and moisturizing but it accentuates my drier parts a bit, so exfoliate and moisturize the lips first. It has a scent and taste but it's really lovely and sweet. The sweet taste doesn't stay very long though so only for the first few seconds. It gives a really beautiful and natural finish, perfect for school and even work. For me I always wear it on days I need to meet people professionally, and on lazy days I don't want my lips to stand out but pretty enough that it won't look dull and dark. The price is of course my only downside personally, but it is really worth it! I would love to get other colors next time. I still give it 5 hearts cause it's currently my HG natural lipstick.
